I work with a small number of clients, using my experience in listed company analysis and small business to bring new ideas, skills and experiences into their businesses.

To be more specific, here is a brief list of issues I have advised or worked on with my clients:

Finance and forecasting

  • Built spreadsheet based models of client businesses, helping them understand the key drivers within the business and prepare monthly forecasts for a year or more into the future
  • Used these forecasts to build discounted cash flow valuations of the business

Business Strategy and Analysis

  • Used the cash flow models to identify areas that required addressing and helpedg prioritise work in those areas based on its value to the business
  • Developed a new mission statement upon which a full business strategy could be constructed
  • Prepared business plans to help focus the businesses and provide direction going foward

HR

  • Advised a major company restructure including the purchase of equity by selected staff
  • Developed incentive schemes for employees
  • Advised on issues around company culture and coached a manager to help improve their leadership skills
  • Conducted candidates interviews to assist a client in recruiting additional senior staff into their business

Marketing

  • Helped clients identify profitable market niches and create a plan to focus the business on becoming a leader in that niche

M&A

  • Advised a client and then mediated discussions between parties priot to a potential merger

Technology

  • Advised on web strategy
  • Advised on and assisted in the integration of web based tools (SaaS) into the business

Investment Advice

  • Provided general business advice and assisted a client in the early stages of developing a new investment strategy (Note: due to regulatory restrictions and the fact that I am not an FSRA licensed financial adviser I am unable to provide specific product advice)
