In my most recent session we all read Michael Gerber’s “The E-Myth Revisted”. It was a decent enough book with several interesting and stimulating ideas, however I wanted to share just one quote with everyone:
Contrary to popular belief, my experience has shown me that the people who are exceptionally good in business aren’t so because of what they know but because of their insatiable need to know more.
The moment I read this line it resonated with me. Do you agree? Have a look around your office and think about your best performers… are they the ones that have an “insatiable need to know more”? What can you do to support the ones that have that need (because if you don’t, someone else might), and how can you encourage the rest of your team to start thinking that way?
And what about you? How strong is your desire to learn new things, and how pro-active are you in feeding that desire?
If your need to learn new things is insatiable, or merely just “very strong”, you might enjoy participating in one of my sessions. They are mainly offered as a free service to my clients, however to keep the group fresh and make sure everyone is meeting new people, I like to have friends and potential clients come along as well (subject to numbers as I like to keep the groups to about 6 people). Just get in touch and I’ll provide details of the next session.
